Abstract:The basic elements of internal solitary waves (ISWs) were obtained by vertically placed sensors in the laboratory experiment and in-situ observation. The vertical characteristics of the amplitude and waveform are analysed experimentally and observationally. Then the experimental and observational results were compared with the theoretical model. The study shows that the experimental amplitude-frequency relationship is closer to that in the two-layer model while the observational amplitude-frequency relationshi… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
