Experimental and numerical study on optimization of the single point incremental forming of AINSI 304L stainless steel sheet

Abstract: Abstract. AINSI 304L stainless steel sheets are commonly formed into a variety of shapes for applications in the industrial, architectural, transportation and automobile fields, it's also used for manufacturing of denture base. In the field of dentistry, there is a need for personalized devises that are custom made for the patient. The single point incremental forming process is highly promising in this area for manufacturing of denture base. The single point incremental forming process (ISF) is an emerging pro… Show more

“…Precision is used to obtain the percentage of correct predictions in every class, meaning the degree of reliability, while recall is used to represent the fraction of samples which were correctly recognized, that is, the model's detection capability. Both measures were calculated using Equations ( 4) and (5). In these equations, TP (True Positive) refers the number of predictions where the classifier correctly predicts the positive class as positive, TN (True negative) indicates the number of predictions where the classifier correctly predicts the negative class as negative, FP (False Positive) depicts the samples incorrectly associated with a class, and FN (False Negative) represents the experiments belonging to a specific class that were wrongly labelled.…”

“…The process has been applied to commercial copper, some aluminum alloys, and high formability mild steel. Some application with stainless steel AISI 304 has been also reported [5]. With regard to titanium alloys, research is mainly recent, and it supposes that their application has the most potential.…”

“…Forming geometric models with complex shapes, on the other hand, is still researched. Several experimental and numerical studies were conducted to investigate parameters impacting this process for various metals [ 14 , 35 ]. The incremental forming procedure used in the suggested approach allows for the creation of a custom prosthesis for each patient, rendering it more comfortable and ensuring greater performance.…”

“…During the incremental forming process, the sheet blank is fixed by a blank holder. The punch follows a programmed tool path with vertical axis step size and progressively deforms the sheet [2].…”
