“…11. Under the external force F, the elongation produced by the grouted sleeve splice consists of three parts: steel bar elongation ΔL r of segment L r , elongation ΔL S of segment L S and the amount of bond-slip ΔL BS between rebar and grout: ΔL = ΔL r + ΔL S + ΔL BS (10) In Eq. ( 10):…”

“…Therefore, previous research on the grouted sleeve splice focuses on the mechanism of bonding force. Several design rules for the grouted sleeve splice were determined through experimental research [10][11][12][13][14]: (1) the anchorage length of reinforcement in a grouted sleeve should be longer than 8d r (d r is the diameter of rebars connected by the grouted sleeve); (2) the ultimate tensile strain should exceed 1.25 times the yield strain; and (3) a larger sleeve section diameter plays a positive role in enhancing the bonding force of rebars. In summary, the impact factors of bonding force in grouted sleeve splice include the anchorage length, grout strength, sleeve diameter, sleeve type, and rebar type.…”

“…Under the action of the El Centro wave, the acceleration peaks of the two GPC pier specimens with higher stiffness increased more than those of the two CIP pier specimens; further, there was no significant difference in the acceleration peak responses of the two GPC pier specimens. According to previous studies (Dahal and Tazarv, 2020;Liu et al, 2020a;Zheng et al, 2014Zheng et al, , 2015, on the premise of meeting the minimum reinforcement anchorage length required by the code, when a large tensile force is generated under the action of ground motion, it will not have a great impact on the reinforcement connected in the sleeve. To this effect, changing the reinforcement anchorage length was found to have little effect on the acceleration response of the pier top.…”

“…About grouted sleeve connections, Kim (2012) conducted tensile tests on two types of grouted sleeve connectors, Liu C et al (2020) studied mechanical properties of 15 sleeve specimens for monotonic tensile tests and Fen et al (2021) investigated dynamic properties of grouted sleeve connections. These studies showed that grouting sleeve technology was an effective method to provide steel bar connection in precast concrete structures.…”
