Experimental and computational investigation of lateral gauge response in polycarbonate

Abstract: Abstract. The shock behaviour of polycarbonate is of interest due to its extensive use in defence applications. Interestingly, embedded lateral manganin stress gauges in polycarbonate have shown gradients behind incident shocks, suggestive of increasing shear strength.
