Experimental Analysis of Welded Rods with a Functionally Graded Material Approach

Abstract: In recent years, with the development of welding methods, using these methods in manufacturing industry and in advanced engineering has become more popular. In this study, mechanical properties of rods obtained by friction welding and electric arc welding are compared. Hence, three specimens with different material properties are manufactured, two of which are welded by friction welding and one of which is welded by electric arc welding. These three specimens are adapted to the ASTM E8-04 standard with the hel… Show more

“…To strengthen this approach a comparison is made between arc welding and friction welding. The results revealed the improved grain structure in joints made with friction welding process (Basmaci et al, 2020). Some researchers (Rao et al, 2013) were previously proved the vibration inclusion during the process of welding can enhance the mechanical properties of the mated materials.…”

“…In this case, functional gradient structures and even functional gradient nanostructures emerge, and have been successfully designed and prepared. [40][41][42][43] The functional gradient nanostructure has the dual characteristics of functional gradient structures and nanomaterials, and it is one of the research hotspots in recent years. 44,45 Considering that the thickness of components in nanorobots or other equipment is very thin, say generally in the order of less than ten nanometers, which is far less than the length and width, but the width is not significantly less than the length, so it is more general to simplify the key components of nanorobots into plate-like nanostructures rather than nanobeams.…”

“…They utilized the Gaussian heat source model. Some researchers investigated especially the HAZ after welding (Waghmare et al, 2019;Dittrich et al, 2019;Basmaci et al, 2020;Cabrilo and Geric, 2018). HAZ is a very important region of the weldment since it is the weakest part of the weldment.…”
