Experimental analysis of stress fields of rotating structural elements by means of reflection photoelasticity

Abstract: The subject of this paper is an experimental stress analysis of a rotor with a symmetrical arm end and a rotor with an asymmetrical arm end. The main aim of this paper is to test the application of the Harmonic Star Method software developed by the authors. This software analyzes stress states in rotating structural elements. The stress state of the analyzed rotors is caused by centrifugal forces. The experiment was carried out by means of reflection photoelasticity, and the experimental solution was focused o… Show more

“…Measurements in normal operation are performed by companies dealing with these sensors, however in my case, I will deal with the theory and practice of the sensor, which is to streamline the measurement process by increasing the service life and refining its output measured values, especially in laboratory conditions. In practice, the sensors may behave differently with a small deviation, but we take the laboratory state as required for the initial parameters of the sensor [Frankovsky 2017, Kadiyala 2017.…”

“…For example in drilling or in accuracy check, but its use is universal in many other areas where gravity acceleration, position, orientation, direction and velocity of movement are to be measured. It can be used, for example, in experimental analysis of rotor stress [16], in cooperation between a human and an industrial robot [17].…”
