The Muara Karang steam power plant is one of the power plants in Indonesia which is managed by PT PLN Nusantara Power as a state-owned company. In carrying out its business, it has potential impacts on the environment, one of which is on biodiversity. The aim of this research is to analyze the potential of biodiversity resources by conserving critical land in the Organic Forest, Megamendung, Bogor, Indonesia. The method used is a natural forest model scenario including organic farming, reforestation, and sustainable organic farming in a natural rehabilitation process. Rehabilitation is carried out using an agroforestry system, intercropping between forestry and agricultural crops, and fertilization using manure. This planting was carried out by the community as a form of empowerment which succeeded in creating jobs as farmers and participating in managing the forest. As a start, 3,000 tree seeds and intercrops such as edamame, corn, cassava, and taro have been planted. The results of this research in monitoring in 2022, the proportion of tree habitat increased from 40% to 54%, the diversity index (H') of birds increased from 2.17 to 3.22, H' of mammals from 1.76 to 2.05, H' of herpetofauna from 2.08 to 2.82, and H' of arthropods from 3.73 to 3.87.

Abstract-Utilization of the different mechanism to earn river's hydropower had been a long-term target for human beings. One of the new methods for achieving this end is reciprocating buoyancy driven mechanism which contains three Vertical cylinders with a light piston in the central cylinder. Fluid is being led to downstream of the system from one of the cylinders by opening the discharge valve of the aforementioned cylinder; water pressure exerts force on the piston which is located in the other parallel cylinder and consequently the piston moves, this would basically be the power generation cycle. In the next step discharge valve of the second cylinder is opened and leads the water to the drainage. This step simply facilitates the piston's return to the initial position. Calculating the head loss occurring inside the cylinders and the other losses results the efficiency estimation more than 90 percent that could be improved easily by optimizing the design and also using better quality materials in the manufacturing process of the machine. This could be an appropriate achievement for regenerative energy production enhancement in the world.Index Terms-Clean energy, hydropower, reciprocating mechanism, head loss.

This study aims to provide an assessment of total and sectoral CO2 emissions of Iran using a macroeconomic climate analysis. It uses two quantitative approaches (i.e., energy–economy–environment indicators and econometric analysis) that complement each other. According to the latest accessible data (1971–2016), evidence shows that, first, the change in Iran's total primary energy supply can significantly explain the variation of CO2 emissions in Iran, while energy intensity and CO2 intensity cannot significantly explain its variability. Second, CO2 emissions in Iran are increasing rapidly and the country is not moving toward the green economy situations. Third, the increase in energy intensity is mostly related to significant increases in energy consumption rather than increases in economic activity. This evidence shows that Iran's CO2 intensity highly depends on the consumption of fossil fuels. Fourth, the econometric estimates suggest that CO2 emissions, in comparison with other examined variables, change significantly in response to changes in per capita GDP, energy intensity, and carbon intensity. Fifth, the main contributors to industrial CO2 emissions are industrial per capita GDP and energy and carbon intensities, while in the transport sectors, the main contributors are the number of vehicles, transport energy intensity, and carbon intensity. Sixth, further decomposition analysis shows the positive impact of per capita GDP and the negative impacts of energy structure and energy efficiency on total CO2 emissions in Iran. © 2020 Society of Chemical Industry and John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
