“…Elements Al, Si, K, Ti, and Fe are found within sediment particles derived from terrigenous sources, while Ca is found within biogenic calcareous sediments (Calvert & Peterson, 2007;Rothwell et al, 2006). U1513 B was scanned from 0 -72.3 m CSF-A (Huber et al, 2019a); U1514 A from 0 -30.1 m CSF-A (Huber et al, 2019b); and U1516 A from 61.7 -223.55 m CSF-A (Huber et al, 2019c).…”

“…40°S at 15 Ma to modern 34°S; Müller et al [2016]; Tagliaro, Wainman, & Fulthorpe, 2021;. Site U1513 recovered a record of upper Pliocene and Pleistocene unconsolidated deposits, Site U1514 recovered a condensed section (20 m thick) of upper Miocene to Pliocene unconsolidated deposits, while Site U1516 recovered a ∼150 m thick record of upper Miocene to Pliocene unconsolidated deposits (Figure 3; Huber et al, 2019aHuber et al, , 2019b2019c;Tagliaro, Wainman, & Fulthorpe, 2021).…”

“…RGB green: dark green data curve = 50-point moving average. See Table T5 and T6 in the Site U1513 chapter (Huber et al, 2019b) for calcareous nannofossil and planktonic foraminifer event definitions. of volcanic material found in lithostratigraphic Units IV and V. No evidence for significant sulfate reduction was detected; sulfate is present in all samples, and Ba concentrations are correspondingly low.…”

“…International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) Expedition 369 recovered sediments from the Great Australian Bight and Mentelle Basin in the southeast Indian Ocean (Figure F1). One of the main reasons for drilling the Expedition 369 sites was their high paleolatitude (60°-62°S) position, which allowed the sampling of high-latitude successions that are important for a reconstruction of the dynamics of the Cretaceous greenhouse climate system (Huber et al, 2019). Cenomanian to Turonian radiolarians from this part of the Cretaceous world have only been described in a single study so far that documented some specimens from Deep Sea Drilling Project (DSDP) Site 258 (Riedel and Sanfilippo, 1974).…”
