“…This article presents a systematic study of 2011 general election news coverage of the Turkish media for the last 3 weeks prior to the elections (23 May through 11 June 2011), with particular consideration given to EU-related news. A similar study (Balkir et al, 2008) was conducted for the 10 weeks prior to the previous 2007 general elections; thus, it will be possible to compare and analyse the findings of the two election periods.
