“…Pure AR is a major challenge for TAVI mainly because the lack of a calcified annulus where to anchor the transcatheter valve bears a relevant risk of valve dislodgement. Literature reports several cases of self‐expandable CoreValve implantation in this setting for treating patients with no other therapeutic options: in fact, due to its versatile design, the CoreValve has allowed to address complex clinical situations with success in a relatively simple manner . Recently, a multicenter registry including 43 patients with native AR demonstrated both the technical feasibility and the drawbacks of this procedure that often requires the use of two percutaneous prostheses even in carefully selected patients .…”
