Exotic colored scalars at the LHC

Abstract: Abstract:We study the phenomenology of exotic color-triplet scalar particles X with charge |Q| = 2/3, 4/3, 5/3, 7/3, 8/3 and 10/3. If X is an SU(2) W -non-singlet, mass splitting within the multiplet allows for cascade decays of the members into the lightest state. We study examples where the lightest state, in turn, decays into a three-body W ± jj final state, and show that in such case the entire multiplet is compatible with indirect precision tests and with direct collider searches for continuum pair produc… Show more

“…[90], and more recently in Refs. [91][92][93]. Via gauge interactions alone, spin-0 S-wave bound states of such particles can be produced from gluon fusion and annihilate to gg, γγ, γZ, ZZ, and W + W − (if the particles are charged under SU(2) L ).…”

“…Importantly, the studies in Refs. [90][91][92][93] assumed the particle couplings to the Higgs to be negligible relative to their couplings to gluons. For top partners, though, this assumption is not satisfied since y t ∼ g s .…”

“…In fact spin zero composite states made by TC-scalars are expected to be observed. It would therefore be interesting to explore the discovery potential at future colliders of spin zero composite states made by two TC-scalars, 8 some of which will have lepto-quarks quantum numbers [45]. Finally, flavour dynamics and modeling is highly interesting and of immediate impact for the investigation of flavour observables and anomalies.…”

“…[4]. In addition, the authors of [32] obtained bounds for colored scalars with charges −7/3, 8/3, −10/3 and of different SU (2) weak representations. However, these analyses attributed the dominant partnerium production, binding and decay mechanisms to QCD.…”
