Abstract: Backgrounds Abnormal energy metabolism is an important mechanism in bupivacaine-induced cardiotoxicity. Apelin, an adipocyte-derived peptide involved in energy metabolism and regulation of the cardiovascular system, may be linked to bupivacaine-induced cardiotoxicity.
