“…Moreover, the interaction between chitosan treatment and the storage duration was also significant for hue angle. ese findings are consistent with other reports on the color changes of minimally processed pomegranate aril [6,11,20]. Similarly, Fawole and Opara [33] have reported that chitosan treatment delays the color changes and controls the browning of pomegranate arils.…”

“…e respiration rate of treated arils was determined using a closed system method [20] using a headspace analyzer (PBI Dansensor CheckMate II Headspace Gas Analyzer, Denmark). e arils were weighed using a weighing balance (Citizen, Mumbai, India).…”

“…As a widely used hormone in plant production, gibberellic acid (GA 3 ) can improve the growth, germination, flowering, and yield, as well as enhance plant-disease resistance ( Maurya et al, 2019 ; Abbasi et al, 2020 ). Miao et al (2017) found the GA 3 treatment did not exert a remarkable influence on the aliphatic and total GSLs contents but increased the glucobrassicin Chinese kale ( B. alboglabra ) sprouts.…”

“…Among these GAs, gibberellic acid (GA 3 ) is the most important member of the gibberellin family and acts as a natural plant growth hormone that has been widely applied in agriculture worldwide . GA 3 has been reported to enhance growth and quality of crops, , cause early seed germination, , reduce abiotic stress of crops, , extend the shelf life of agricultural products, and so forth. Because of its wide application in agricultural production, China has become one of the largest GA 3 consumers with annual production over 4000 tons in recent years, and GA 3 has gained great attention all over the world because of its potential high residues in agricultural products and natural environments. , Several toxicology reports indicated that GA 3 was hepatotoxic, teratogenic, and carcinogenic and was a biochemical pesticide that left residues on plant surfaces when used excessively. The maximum residue limits (MRLs) of GA 3 in many fruits, vegetables, and crops are limited to 0.2 mg/kg in Japan, and there are no legal rules about the GA 3 residues in China.…”
