This article presents an interdisciplinary, practice-based research project which aims to investigate the perception and the imaginaries – both present and future – of children living in a condition of imprisonment, using a multimodal approach and combining photography, animation, VR 360° video and ethnofiction to create an immersive media project. The article focuses on the use of photography and photo-elicitation to bring to the surface intimate and deep feelings connected to the fear and hope of children in prison.
