Exergy pinch analysis of the primary oil distillation unit

Abstract: The article is devoted to the issue of thermodynamic optimization of an oil refinery. Optimization is carried out by the exergy method of thermodynamic analysis, which allows you to take into account the quantitative as well as qualitative characteristics of thermal processes. The research uses the principles and rules of pinch analysis. Thus, the article discusses the task of optimizing oil refining processes using the pinch analysis method using exergy. The objective of the article is to increase energy effi… Show more

“…The AT atmospheric distillation unit is based on heating, evaporation and fractionation of desalted and dehydrated oil from the EDP unit, divides it into separate fractions, and also conducts condensation of distillate vapors. The GRF unit is intended for: collection, compounding and orderly distribution of fuel gases; for draining, storing, preparing caustic soda solutions of the required concentrations and distributing the prepared solutions to the plant's technological installations [3,4].…”

“…Earlier, we performed an exergy pinch analysis of the heat exchange system of the boiler unit and analysis of the heat exchange system of the primary oil refining unit [10,11]. The results of the analysis of the exergy pinch allow us to formulate and justify specific design measures to improve the energy efficiency of heat transfer systems, which is very important for the oil refining industry [12,13].…”
