Objective: The study aims to determine why kidney transplantation candidates are excluded from the organ offer list. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted as a retrospective screening of archived records. The data of 228 patients who met the study criteria were included. Evaluations were made concerning sociodemographic characteristics, blood group, dialysis type and time, panel reactive antibody results, duration of waiting for an organ, and the recipient's current status (on the active waiting list, transplanted, or deceased). Results: Of the candidates on the organ transplantation waiting list, 14.9% could not be contacted at the telephone number in the records, and 6.1% could not attend the centre because of transport problems. A statistically significant difference was determined between the age range, the time since starting dialysis, and the candidate's current status according to the waiting duration. Conclusion: Through collaboration with dialysis and transplantation centres and the Regional Health Authority, nurses can update the contact telephone numbers and resolve transplant candidates' transport problems, thereby allowing those receiving dialysis treatment to be added to the organ transplantation waiting list without losing time.

ÖzAMAÇ: Ülkemizde kadavra organ bağışı istenilen düzeylerde değildir. Ancak, kadavra böbrek bekleme listelerindeki hasta sayıları giderek artmaktadır. Bu durum organ nakli merkezlerinin kadavra böbrek alıcı adaylarını takibini de zorlaştırmaktadır. Kadavra böbrek nakli çağrısı anında adayların tıbbi durumları ve liste bilgilerinin güncelliği çok önemlidir. Çalışmada, merkezimize kadavradan böbrek nakli için çağırılan alıcı adaylarının elenme nedenleri araştırılmıştır. gErEÇ ve yÖNTEMlEr: Çalışmaya Ocak 2013 ve Ağustos 2015 tarihleri arasında kadavradan böbrek nakli için merkezimize çağırılan erişkin 252 alıcı adayı dahil edildi. Elektronik hasta verileri, immünoloji laboratuvarı sonuçları ve nakil konseyi kararları incelendi. Bakanlık listesine göre nakil yapılan hastaya kadar olan nakil adaylarının elenme nedenleri araştırıldı. Daha alt sıralardaki adaylar değerlendirme dışı bırakıldı.BulgulAr: Çalışma süresince merkezimize 252 (%56,7 erkek, %43,3 kadın, yaş ortalaması 46,2±12,2 yıl) erişkin aday, 81 kadavra (120 böbrek) için çağırıldı. Adaylardan 144'ü (%57,1) çeşitli nedenlerden dolayı elendi. Elenme nedenleri; merkeze gelememe/istememe 59 (%34,1), lenfosit crossmatch testi pozitifliği 40 (%22,9), hastaya ulaşılamaması 24 (%13,9), kronik HCV enfeksiyonu 20 (%11,6), aktif enfeksiyon 11 (%6,6), kardiyak nedenler 8 (%4,6) ve akciğer patolojileri 5 (%2,5) olarak saptandı.sONuÇ: Kadavra böbrek nakli için merkezimize çağırılan adaylarda beklenmeyen sorunlarla karşılaşılması nakil olmalarını engellemektedir. However, the number of patients on cadaveric kidney waiting lists is increasing. This situation also makes it difficult to follow cadaveric kidney recipient candidates at transplantation centers. It is very important for the medical status and information of the waitlisted candidates to be current at the time of the cadaveric kidney transplant call. In this study, we investigated the exclusion reasons of cadaveric transplantation candidates at our center. MATErIAl and METhOds:A total 252 adults called for cadaveric kidney transplantation between January 2013 and August 2015 were included the study. Electronic data, immunology laboratory results and transplantation council records were examined. Exclusion reasons of the candidates were evaluated according to the list order. Candidates with a lower rank than the transplanted candidate were excluded. rEsulTs: In this period, 252 (56.7% male, 43.3% female, 46.2±12.2 years) adults were called for 81 cadaveric donors (120 kidneys).
