Runge and Bryan (222) excite and determine nitrogen spectrographically by direct spark excitation of the steel sample with a coefficient of variation of 17%• The spectrographic determination of nitrogen in steels is treated in a 101-page dissertation by Jasinski (113). Hydrogen is determined in steels by Zaídel and Petrov (275) by equilibrating the hydrogen of the sample with a certain quantity of deuterium, and the equilibrated gas is analyzed spectrometrically for the H/D ratio.…”
