Excess Volumes and Speed of Sound of Ternary Mixtures of 2-Methoxyethanol (1) + Butyl Acetate (2) + Aromatic Hydrocarbons (3) at 303.15 K

Abstract: Excess volumes and the speed of sound of five ternary mixtures of 2-methoxyethanol(l) + butyl acetate (2) + benzene (3), + toluene (3), + chlorobenzene (3), + bromobenzene (31, and + nitrobenzene (3) have been measured a t 303.15 K. The excess volumes exhibit positive deviation over the entire range of composition in the system 2-methoxyethanol(l) + butyl acetate (2) + benzene (3) and sigmoid behavior in the case of the remaining systems. The deviation in the isentropic compressibility exhibits a sigmoid behav… Show more

“…The applicabilities of these three expressions were also put to rigorous tests for correlating ternary excess volumes from binary pair data. Similarly, these expressions were also used to correlate the deviations in isentropic compressibilities of ternary mixtures of 2-methoxyethanol + butyl acetate + benzene, toluene, chlorobenzene, bromobenzene, or nitrobenzene, 1,3-dichlorobenzene + methylethyl ketone + 1-alcohols, and propan-1-ol + n -hexane + butylamine. 20…”

“…The applicabilities of these three expressions were also put to rigorous tests [13][14][15][16][17] for correlating ternary excess volumes from binary pair data. Similarly, these expressions were also used to correlate the deviations in isentropic compressibilities of ternary mixtures of 2-methoxyethanol + butyl acetate + benzene, toluene, chlorobenzene, bromobenzene, or nitrobenzene, 18 1,3-dichlorobenzene + methylethyl ketone + 1-alcohols, 19 and propan-1-ol + n-hexane + butylamine. 20 The studies involving ternary mixtures consisting of acrylic esters, alcohols, and hydrocarbons are essential and provide vital information useful for the efficient design of reactors for the transesterification process in which an acrylic ester is reacted with a chosen alcohol in an inert solvent media consisting of hydrocarbons.…”
