“…This means that the n-π complex formation between the free electrons of the -O-CO-O group and the aromatic ring (17) is very important. Evidence of n-π interactions in (alkanone, (27) alkyl alkanoate, (28,29) propylene carbonate, (30) or alkyl carbonate (17) + toluene) has been previously reported.…”

“…The dipole moment of Z-azobenzene can be calculated with 3.2 D. [30] This value is close to the one of acetone with 2.9 D. [31] Studies show, that the mixing enthalpy of acetone with n-alkanes increases with increasing chain length of the n-alkanes, indicating less favourable interactions between solute and solvent. [32] This would also be the case for the Z-azobenzene, leading to a lowering of the Z!E isomerization barrier by increasing the energy of the Z-isomer and therefore a shorter half-life.…”

“…Density, refractive index, and viscosity at T = 298 K have been reported by Karr et al [6], while Rama Varma et al [7] reported molar excess volume determined dilatometrically at T = 308 K, whose values disagree with ours because they are more negative than those at T = 313.15 K reported in this work. Furthermore, Shen et al [8] give excess enthalpies at T = 323.15 K. However, as far as we know, neither isothermal VLE data nor excess molar or deviation properties at temperatures other than those stated above are available in the literature for this binary system.…”
