Examining internet banking user’s continuance intention through the lens of technology continuance theory and task technology fit model

Abstract: Purpose The long-term success of internet banking (IB) services is connected with continuous use. Therefore, examining factors which influence IB user continuance intention is important. Grounded in technology continuance theory, bank transparency and task technology fit (TTF) model, the purpose of this study is to develop a unified technology continuance model to investigate IB user continuance intention. Design/methodology/approach The research model was empirically tested with 348 responses. Respondents i… Show more

“…Therefore, the individual and technology characteristics better explain the customer’s intention to adopt EVs. Prior literature explains the adoption concept in various domains such as automotive [ 14 ], banking [ 15 , 16 ], education [ 17 ], healthcare [ 18 ], manufacturing [ 19 ], and tourism [ 20 ]. Amidst evolving EV adoption literature, there is a growing recognition for diverse framework beyond traditional theories, necessitating deeper exploration of individual and technology dynamics.…”

“…The degree to which an individual expects to obtain strategic or operational benefits from using a new technology is referred to as its PU (Chen et al, 2015). If a system fails to deliver apparent advantages, it will probably lead to dissatisfaction, unfavorable attitudes and discontinuance (Rahi and Abd Ghani, 2021). Prior research has postulated that PU is a vital predecessor of customers' continuance intention to use FDAs (Silva et al, 2022), which can also enhance their satisfaction and formulate their attitudes (Foroughi et al, 2019).…”

“…It indicates the degree to which technical features or functionalities are enough to support a user's task or requirement [29]. The fitness between task and technology can increase the perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and thus, the satisfaction [30]. Therefore, positive HCI experiences, which depend on ease of use and design could also be affected by the fit between the attributes of the technology (e.g., usability, functionality, performance, and security) and the attributes of the mobile payment tasks and processes (e.g., using smartphones to complete the authentication process, making a purchase, exchanging money with another party, checking the bank balance, wiring money, and keeping track of spending behaviors).…”
