This study aims to examine studying approaches of the students of physical education and school of physical and sports according to various variables. The data of the study conducted in the general scanning model has been collected from 478 students in 2016-2017 teaching year. Studying Approaches Scale has been used to collect data. Besides complementary statistics, t test, multdimensional variance analysis (MANOVA) and Pearson correlation coefficient has been used while analysing the data. It's seen that studying approaches of these students continue on indecision level. Additionaly, it's seen that they don't show significant differences in terms of gender, grade, department according to the data collected with the scale. There hasn't been found a notable link with studying approaches and success either.

The aim of the research is to determine the mathematical concepts in the third-grade life science textbook and to examine the relationship between these concepts and the mathematics achievements of the students from the third grade to the eighth grade. Document analysis technique, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the research. As a document, the Pacific Publishing 3rd grade Life science textbook provided to public schools by the Ministry of National Education in 2021 was examined. In data analysis, descriptive and content analysis techniques were used according to the nature of the sub-purposes. In the study, as a result of examining the life science lesson in terms of mathematical concepts, "locating and drawing", "data analysis", "time calculations" and "basic mathematics knowledge" were determined as the themes. Categories related to these themes and related mathematical concepts forming the categories were determined in terms of unit and topic distribution. Four categories were determined in the research. These are “Direction and sketch drawing”, “table and graphic interpretation”, “time units" and “mathematical literacy and four operations”. When the units are evaluated together, it has been determined that there are 19 concepts related to mathematics in the third-grade life science textbook. It has been observed that "data analysis" has been found to be the theme most strongly linked to mathematics achievement, and it persists as a spiral of maths success across all grade levels.

Ayrıca çalışma grubunda yer alan öğretmen adaylarının kişisel niteliklerini ortaya koymak amacıyla araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen "Kişisel Bilgi Formu" kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonunda; öğretmen adaylarının Epistemolojik İnanç Ölçeğinin tamamından ve alt boyutlarından aldıkları puanlar arasında cinsiyete göre anlamlı bir fark olmadığı, Ders Çalışma Yaklaşımı Ölçeğinin "yüzeysel yaklaşım" alt boyutunda ise erkek öğretmen adaylarının aldıkları puanların, kadın öğretmen adaylarının puanlarına göre anlamlı derecede yüksek olduğu, PDR bölümünde öğrenim gören öğretmen adaylarının EİÖ "bilginin gelişimi" alt boyutundaki puanlarının Sınıf ve Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliği bölümünde öğrenim gören öğretmen adaylarının puanlarına göre anlamlı derecede yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. Yine öğretmen adaylarının Epistemolojik İnanç Ölçeğinin tamamından ve alt boyutlarından aldıkları puanlar arasında kitap okuma sıklığına göre anlamlı bir fark olmadığı, Ayda birden fazla kitap okuyan öğretmen adaylarının DÇYÖ "derin yaklaşım" alt boyutundaki puanlarının üç ayda bir kitap okuyan öğretmen adaylarına göre anlamlı derecede yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca öğretmen adaylarının EİÖ "bilginin gerekçelendirilmesi" alt boyutundan aldıkları puanlar ile DÇYÖ "derin yaklaşım" alt boyutundan aldıkları puanlar arasında düşük düzeyde pozitif bir ilişki olduğu belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular literatüre dayalı olarak yorumlanmış ve tartışılmıştır. Bütün bu sonuçlar çerçevesinde öğretmen adaylarının epistemolojik inançları ve ders çalışma yaklaşımlarını geliştirme konusunda eğitsel rehberlik faaliyetlerinin yürütülmesi, epistemolojik inanç ve ders çalışma yaklaşımlarını etkileyecek olumsuzlukları giderilmesi için akademik çalışmaların yapılması önerilmektedir.
