Examination of Self-Care Behavior Profile and Self-Care Management in Hypertension Patients

Abstract

Introduction: The main purpose of disease management in hypertension, as in all approaches to the treatment of chronic diseases, is to ensure management through treatment and care behavior.
 Aim: The aim of this study is to investigate the effect and relationship between self-care behavior profiles of patients with hypertension on their self-care management.
 Method: This cross-sectional descriptive research of 268 patients with hypertension who were attending the cardiology outpatient clinic at a private university hospital in Ankara was carried out between September 2022 and March 2023. 
 Results: The mean overall score of self-care management in chronic diseases was 115.220±23.745, while the mean Hypertension Self-Care Profile Behavior Scale score was 46.246±9.599.
