Analytic formulae are given for order α s perturbative QCD corrections to the double differential distribution of the τ lepton energy and the invariant mass of the τ + antineutrino system in semileptonic decays of the bottom quark. The corresponding distribution for B meson decays are obtained by combining these results and the nonperturbative QCD corrections calculated by Falk et al. AbstractKolya Uraltsev was one of the inventors of the Heavy Quark Expansion (HQE), that describes inclusive weak decays of hadrons containing heavy quarks and in particular lifetimes. Besides giving a pedagogic introduction into the subject, we review the development and the current status of the HQE, which just recently passed several non-trivial experimental tests with an unprecedented precision. In view of many new experimental results for lifetimes of heavy hadrons, we also update several theory predictions:06. The theoretical precision is currently strongly limited by the unknown size of the nonperturbative matrix elements of four-quark operators, which could be determined with lattice simulations. * Alexander. We calculate the O(α s ) corrections to the charged Higgs mediated inclusive semi-tauonic B decay. By working in the Landau gauge, we demonstrate how to obtain the charged Higgs contributions (both direct and interference terms) from the known QCD corrections to t → bH + . Combining our results with O(1/m 2 b ) corrections to the spectator model and comparing the theoretical prediction with the recent experimental measurements, we find a model-independent 2σ upper bound on the ratio of Higgs vacuum expectation values, tan β < 0.52 (m H /1 GeV).
