“…The authors identified an anonymous EST D19S799E that mapped close to the distal flanking polymorphic marker D19S412 and reported it as CARP-2 on human chromosome 19q 28 . Simultaneously, CARP XI was also identified by two other groups 29,30 . There were several differences in the reported cDNA sequences, which included amino acid substitutions: 23 Gly(GGT) to Ala(GCT), 24 Asn(AAC) to His(CAC), and 75 Leu(CTG) to Val (GTG) between the sequence submitted by Fujikawa-Adachi et al 29 and the CARP-2 sequence of Bellingham et al 27 and the difference of one amino acid (280 Ile(ATC) to Met(ATG) between the sequence of Fujikawa-Adachi et al and Lovejoy et al 29,30 A full-length cDNA clone of the CA11 transcript was sequenced, containing 1475 bp and predicted to encode a 328-amino acid polypeptide with a molecular mass of 36.2 kDa (Table 1) frame that encoded a 328-residue protein and untranslated sequences of 369 bp at 5′ and 119 bp at 3′ ends.…”
