Abstract:Optical field propagation in a nonlinear bent slab waveguide with a Kerr-like nonlinear cladding medium is presented. With increasing input power, the self-focusing effect significantly disturbs the original waveguide configuration, and a nonstationary evolution behavior is found. It is shown that the onset and the direction of soliton emission are sensitive to the guiding capability of the initial waveguide. In pariicular, a novel result is observed when the waveguide supporis more than one mode. 0 ABSTRACT A… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
