“…x Co x Ge where magnetic order survives in the entire concentration range 22 . In contrast to UPd 1x Co x Ge, a deep local minimum in the ordering temperatures is created at the AFM/FM boundary in UIr 1-x Rh x Ge almost at the level of T C of UCoGe.…”

“…This AFM/FM boundary is of interest because the AFM and FM are separated at this point throughout the whole orthorhombic TiNiSi-type UTGe system by the Hill limit 4 . Many studies have been conducted to determine the delicate balance of magnetic interactions in UTGe alloy systems, but they have been primarily on polycrystalline samples where the crucially important magnetocrystalline anisotropy remains hidden 4,[21][22][23][24][25][26] . Our investigation of single crystal study has allowed us to develop a general picture of the magnetism in the AFM part of the UIr 1-x Rh x Ge system which surprisingly preserves many of the magnetic features of the FM parent compounds URhGe and UCoGe.…”

“…6 and 8). One cannot entirely exclude the possibility of specific antiferromagnetic phases in this concentration range of the UCo 1-x Ir x Ge system similar to those proposed in the case of the UCo 1-x Pd x Ge compounds [28]. Rather, however, we tend to assume that the highest substitution disorder (see also [35]) in the intermediate concentration range causes the distribution of exchange interactions that lead to complex magnetic correlations in the paramagnetic state (correlated paramagnet -(CPM)) and ultimately to the freezing of incoherent spin arrangements (spin-glass-like, cluster glass [29] with possible short-range magnetic order (SRMO)).…”

“…Each sample was characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD) at room temperature on a Bruker D8 Advance diffractometer. The obtained data were evaluated by the Rietveld technique [28] using FULLPROF/WINPLOTR software [29,30], given the previously published crystallographic data of the isostructural UCoGe [31] and UIrGe [24] compounds as starting models.…”

“…A consecutive UCoGe-URhGe-UIrGe dU-U-T phase diagram, respecting Hill limit scenario [12], will be constructed based on analysis of the magnetization and heat capacity data to uncover the evolution of Tmax, which remained hidden in so far performed polycrystalline studies [13][14][15][16][17][18][19].…”
