Evidence for the <i>in vivo </i>Synergism between Penicillin and Kanamycin

Abstract: The in vivo synergism between kanamycin and penicillin is investigated by comparing the antibacterial activity of plasma of rabbits treated i.m. with both antibiotics given alone or in a fixed combination. When studied as a function of time, the combination is statistically found synergistic against the S. aureus tested, 2 and 4 h after treatment.
