“…The mass of the resonance was measured to be (1540 ± 10) MeV/c 2 , in remarkable agreement with the theoretical prediction for the Θ + state made in the framework of the chiral soliton model by Diakonov, Petrov, and Polyakov [4]. Various experiments, using incident beams of real and quasi-real photons, kaons, and neutrons, claimed to confirm the initial reports of Θ + decaying to nK + and pK 0 S [5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13]. Another manifestly exotic state, a doubly negative baryon decaying to Ξ − π − [14], and its neutral partner decaying to Ξ − π + , were reported by the NA49 Collaboration in √ s = 17.2 GeV pp collisions at the CERN SPS [15].…”

“…The recent discovery of this truly exotic baryon [2,3,4,5,6,7,8] has triggered an intensive investigation aimed at a determination of its basic properties. Currently, available data do not allow for the determination of either its spin or its parity.…”

“…The HERMES Collaboration searched for the Θ + in quasi-real photo-production off a deuterium target in 2004 [12] using the decay channel Θ + → pK 0 S → pπ + π − . A narrow structure was observed at 1528 MeV with a significance of 3.7 σ.…”
