“…Up to now, little is known about how interventions should be struc tured in modular psychotherapies 57 . Different from most practicing clinicians who follow eclectic treatment approaches according to their expertise and intuition 58 , empirically based rules are needed to arrive at replicable treatment standards.…”

“…Openly addressing of farming-specific topics and expression of appreciation in the communication about mental health care might therefore be important for actual usage, which are highlighted by studies focusing on help-seeking behavior and intervention design in this population ( Lotfi et al, 2010 ; Vayro et al, 2020 ). To adapt the actual coaching approach better to the participants' need ( Cole and Bondy, 2020 ; Stumpp and Sauer-Zavala, 2021 ) knowing and understanding the occupational background is an important skill for the involved coaches. The involvement of experts with farming knowledge was previously recommended by Bowyer et al (2023) to improve retention in online CBT intervention for farmer's mental health as a conclusion of their acceptability study.…”

“…However, besides the overall positive attitudes to telephone coaching and the reported advantages, almost half of the participants stated that it would not have been their first choice given alternatives. Personalization of health care should therefore begin with offering different delivery formats (face-to-face, internet- and telephone-based, blended approaches) and settings (group vs. individual programs) and supporting participants in accessing the health care service that best fits their clinical need and individual preference ( Smit and Van, 2013 ; Stumpp and Sauer-Zavala, 2021 ).…”

“…For each included modular youth psychotherapy, two authors independently applied a codebook to record intervention decisionmaking characteristics. The codebook applied to each was developed through an iterative process involving all the study authors, in which the authors reviewed relevant literature on psychotherapy decision-making and personalization (B. F. Chorpita et al, 2005;Cohen et al, 2021;Ng & Weisz, 2016;Stumpp & Sauer-Zavala, 2021;, trialed the codebook on a subset of included psychotherapies, then revised the codebook accordingly. Once this codebook was finalized, the first author (KEV) coded all included modular youth psychotherapies, along with one of the other authors (RR, MC, OMF, or JRW), and discrepancies were resolved via discussion among all the authors.…”

“…Fourth, research has identified several different aspects of psychological care that may be personalized, including level of care (e.g., outpatient and inpatient), psychotherapy protocol or type, targets and elements within a psychotherapy protocol, and adaptation of delivery style including within-session moment-to-moment decisions (Cohen et al, 2021). A recent review of existing research on personalized approaches to treatment selection, termination, and inclusion and ordering of therapeutic skills suggested that modular approaches to psychotherapy show promise for selecting and ordering therapeutic skills; however, relatively little is known about how this process of selecting and ordering psychotherapeutic skills is or should optimally be structured in modular psychotherapies (Stumpp & Sauer-Zavala, 2021).…”
