“…A recent example of this attention in the Netherlands relates to co-operation between the government and the Dutch Association for Creative Therapy which has seen the emergence of the 'kenniskring' -or research institute, paid by the government, in collaboration with Universities in which an associate professor is appointed as head of research. An example of this is KenVaK, a research centre for the arts therapies, a joint venture of Zuyd University of Applied Sciences, Utrecht University of Applied Sciences, ArtEZ University of Applied Sciences and Stenden University of Applied Sciences whose outputs (http://kenvak.hszuyd.nl/index) include material linked to evidence-based research and research in practice (Beurskens et al 2008, Smeijsters 2009. Other initiatives, include the collaboration currently being developed by the Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust, which has agreed to host a university alliance for the purposes of furthering arts psychotherapies research in mental health.…”
