Abstract:Mastitis is a very common maternal complication of lactation and contributes to early cessation of breastfeeding. Therapeutic ultrasound has been proposed as a non-invasive therapeutic alternative and has been added to the latest recommendations aimed at the treatment of mastitis spectrum disorders. In this article, we highlight the successful utilization of therapeutic ultrasound as part of the therapeutic program after the diagnosis of mastitis in a woman who was breastfeeding three newborn children.
