Event-triggered-based adaptive sliding mode control for networked linear control systems

Abstract: This paper investigates the robust stabilization of the adaptive sliding mode control for a class of linear systems subjected to external disturbance via event-triggered communication (ETC) scheme. First, in order to reduce the bandwidth utilization, a discrete ETC scheme is proposed and the networked sliding mode function is derived using the ETC scheme. Based on the derived sliding mode function, a reduced-order networked sliding mode dynamics with communication delay is established. Second, by constructing … Show more

“…More precisely, the control design process to guarantee the closed-loop stability of the nonlinear systems is led to an optimization problem based on the linear matrix inequality (LMI) (Scherer and Weiland, 2000). On the contrary, most real systems are exposed to the undesired signals such as external disturbances which led to the design of robust controllers (Gunasekaran and Joo, 2019; Li and Peng, 2022; Radac and Lala, 2020).…”

“…In recent years, data quantization and event-triggered mechanisms have been on the point of attention due to resource limitations and shared communication channels. The event-triggered control has the advantages in reduction of data transmission (communicational loads) and computation loads (see Girard, 2014;Li and Peng, 2022;Lunze and Lehmann, 2010;Postoyan et al, 2014). Event-triggered control can also be applicable in the time-delay systems due to the effective usage of the system resources (Bansal and Mukhija, 2021;Borri and Pepe, 2021;Nozari et al, 2020;Xie et al, 2020Xie et al, , 2022.…”

“…Sliding mode control (SMC), as a mature control technology, has strong robustness to uncertain dynamics [3,17,26]. Therefore, various SMC schemes, such as linear, integral and global ones, have been developed and applied to hydraulic systems [6,23,14]. Linear SMC is usually designed based on a linear sliding-mode surface and a sliding-mode reaching law, but with poor robustness [8,5].…”
