ResumoObjetivou-se avaliar a eficiência produtiva de três clones de palma forrageira resistentes à Cochonilha do Carmim, cultivados em condições de sequeiro no Semiárido brasileiro. Os clones avaliados foram IPA-Sertânia (IPA), Miúda (MIU) e Orelha de Elefante Mexicana (OEM). Foram calculados os indicadores de eficiência do uso da água: produtividade da água da cultura (PA C ), produtividade econômica da água (PEA) e eficiência do uso de nutrientes (EUN), todos com base na água precipitada (Prec.) e na evapotranspiração real da cultura (ETr). A ETr foi quantificada por meio do método do balanço de água no solo. Verificou-se que não houve diferença estatística entre a PA C em base seca (MS) nos clones avaliados tanto em termos de Prec. como de ETr, mas eles diferiram em base fresca. A OEM foi o clone mais eficiente em base fresca (PA C(Prec.) ~ 104,8 kg MV ha -1 mm -1 ; PA C(ETr.) ~ 112,1 kg MV ha -1 mm -1 ), seguido pelo clone IPA, que também se mostrou eficiente quanto a ETr (PA C(ETr.) ~ 101,1 kg MV ha -1 mm -1 ). A MIU foi o clone menos eficiente para o Semiárido brasileiro. Não houve diferença da PEA (PEA (Prec.) ~ 35,4 R$ ha -1 mm -1 ; PEA (ETr.) ~ 39,5 R$ ha -1 mm -1 ) e da EUN, com exceção da eficiência do uso do magnésio com base na ETr, que foi maior para OEM (EUN (Mg) ~ 111,4 g ha -1 mm -1 ) e IPA (EUN (Mg) ~ 77,4 g ha -1 mm -1 ), e do sódio com base na precipitação, que foi superior para os clones OEM (EUN (Mg) ~ 4854,3 mg ha -1 mm -1 ) e MIU (EUN (Mg) ~ 3383,6 mg ha -1 mm -1 ).Palavras-chave: evapotranspiração, Nopalea sp., Opuntia sp., produtividade econômica da água, rendimento. Water and nutrient use efficiency indicators of cactus pear clones in rainfed conditions in the Brazilian Semi-arid region AbstractThe objective was to evaluate the productive efficiency of three cactus pear clones, resistant to Cochineal Carmine, grown in rainfed conditions in the Brazilian semi-arid region. The evaluated clones were IPA-Sertânia (IPA), Miúda (MIU) and Orelha de Elefante Mexicana (OEM). The indicators of water use efficiency were calculated: crop water productivity (CWP), economic water productivity (EWP) and nutrient use efficiency (NUE), all based on rain (Prec.) and the real crop evapotranspiration (ETr). The ETr was quantified by the method of the soil water balance. It was found that the CWP on a dry basis (DB) did not differ from one clone to the others (CWP (Prec.) ~ 8.1 kg DB ha -1 mm -1 ; CWP (ETr.) ~ 9.1 kg DB ha -1 mm -1 ), but they differed on a green base (GB). The OEM was the most efficient clone (CWP (Prec.) ~ 104.8 kg GB ha -1 mm -1 ; PAC (ETr.) ~ 112.1 kg GB ha -1 mm -1 ), follow by the IPA concerning the ETr (CWP (ETr.) ~ 101.1 kg GB ha -1 mm -1 ). The MIU was least efficient clone for the Brazilian semi-arid region. A B S T R A C TThe objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of irrigation and fungicide application on the occurrence of diseases and cypsela yield of two genotypes of sunflower. The experiments were carried out in Santa Maria-RS, during the regular season in 2007 and the late season, in 2008. Plants were sown on 04/09/2007 and 21/01/2008, in a completely randomized design, with four replicates. A 2 x 6 factorial scheme was used, with the sunflower genotypes Aguará 03 and Hélio 358 and six fungicide application schemes, which were determined by the FAST forecasting system, as follows: FAST 16, FAST 22 and FAST 28, without irrigation, FAST 16 IRR under irrigated condition, in addition to irrigated control (CONTROL IRR) and control (CONTROL). Disease progress was analyzed based on weekly observations of the severity of the symptoms. It was verified that irrigation increases sunflower cypsela yield in the regular season, provided that weather conditions are not favorable for the occurrence of alternaria and septoria leaf blights or that fungicides are applied. In the late season, under irrigated condition, fungicide application is necessary to control alternaria and septoria leaf blights.Irrigação e aplicação de fungicidas na ocorrência de doenças e na produtividade do girassol em períodos de safra e safrinha R E S U M O Objetivou-se, neste trabalho, avaliar o efeito da irrigação e da aplicação de fungicidas na ocorrência de doenças e na produtividade de cipselas de dois genótipos de girassol. Os experimentos foram conduzidos em Santa Maria, RS, nos períodos de safra de 2007 e safrinha de 2008. As semeaduras foram realizadas em 04/09/2007 e 21/01/2008, sendo utilizado o delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com quatro repetições. Foi utilizado um esquema fatorial 2 x 6, constituído pelos genótipos de girassol Aguará 03 e Hélio 358 e seis esquemas de aplicação de fungicida, determinados em função do sistema de previsão FAST, os quais foram: FAST 16, FAST 22 e FAST 28, sem irrigação, FAST 16 IRR, em condição irrigada, além das testemunhas irrigada (TEST IRR) e não irrigada (TEST). O progresso da doença foi analisado com base nas observações semanais da severidade dos sintomas da doença. Verificou-se que a irrigação aumenta a produtividade de cipselas de girassol no cultivo de safra desde que as condições meteorológicas não sejam favoráveis para a ocorrência de mancha de alternaria e septoria ou que se apliquem fungicidas. Na safrinha em condição irrigada, a aplicação de fungicidas é necessária para o controle de mancha de alternaria e septória.

We used twelve load cells (20 kg capacity) in a mini-lysimeter system to measure evapotranspiration simultaneously from twelve plants growing in separate pots in a glasshouse. A data logger combined with a multiplexer was used to connect all load cells with the fullbridge excitation mode to acquire load-cell signal. Each load cell was calibrated using fixed load within the range of 0-0.8 times the full load capacity of load cells. Performance of all load cells was assessed on the basis of signal settling time, excitation compensation, hysteresis and temperature. Final calibration of load cells included statistical consideration of these effects to allow prediction of lysimeter weights and evapotranspiration over short-time intervals for improved accuracy and sustained performance. Analysis of the costs for the mini-lysimeter system indicates that evapotranspiration can be measured economically at a reasonable accuracy and sufficient resolution with robust method of load-cell calibration.
