Abstract: Background Acute respiratory tract infections (ARTI), including the common cold, pharyngitis, sinusitis, otitis media, tonsillitis, bronchiolitis and pneumonia are the most common diagnoses among pediatric patients and account for the majority of antibiotic prescriptions.
