“…28,29 Studies of different measuring devices report mean horizontal WTW values of between 11.5 mm and 12.5 mm 10,11,17,30,31-33 and a mean vertical WTW value of 10.6 mm. 31,32,34 Our results agree with those in other studies, 9,34 which found the horizontal WTW and ATA distances to be higher than the vertical values. In contrast, in a study using AS-OCT, Baikoff et al 30 found that the vertical ATA distance was greater than the horizontal ATA distance by at least 100 mm in 74% of eyes and by more than 300 mm in nearly 50% of eyes.…”

“…Nevertheless, it is important to note that the preoperative calculation of the capsule size is complicated and there is not a clear relation between parameters such as corneal diameter and capsule size. 22 When the mean rotation among the different toric monofocal IOLs was compared, the AcrySof IQ and enVista toric lenses showed less rotation than the Lentis LT lens, although none of the lenses showed a mean rotation of more than 5°. Both the AcrySof IQ toric and enVista lenses are open-loop haptic lenses, whereas the Lentis LT is a plate-haptic lens.…”

“…3,4 Geometrically, the horizontal cornea diameter is greater than that of the vertical by ,1 mm. 9 Therefore, the distance between the paired clear corneal incisions will be further from the center of the cornea horizontally than vertically. Superior limbal incisions have been shown to have a greater refractive effect than temporal incisions.…”
