The concept of “green development” has garnered increasing recognition and prominence in recent years, attracting the attention of various countries and regions. How to achieve green development has become a pressing issue for the government. The integration of the culture industry and tourism has had a profound impact on regional green development. This paper employs the entropy method to assess the level of regional green development, and it employs the coupling coordination model to evaluate the degree of integration of the culture industry and tourism across 30 provincial administrative regions in China from 2011 to 2021. Additionally, an econometric model is constructed to empirically examine the impact of the integration of the culture industry and tourism on regional green development, as well as its underlying mechanism. The findings of this study indicate the following: (1) The integration of the culture industry and tourism significantly enhances regional green development. (2) With the improvement in the regional green development level, the integration of the culture industry and tourism is playing a gradually stronger role in promoting regional green development. (3) Further analysis of the mechanism reveals that the integration of the culture industry and tourism enhances regional green development by facilitating the upgrading of the tourism industrial structure. (4) Environmental regulation policies reinforce the role of the integration of the culture industry and tourism in promoting regional green development. These research findings contribute to enhancing our understanding of the impact of the integration of the culture industry and tourism on regional green development, providing empirical evidence and policy recommendations for the government to facilitate the integration of the culture industry and tourism and further promote green development.

As a strategic pillar of the Chinese economy, high-quality development of the tourism industry has become a pressing demand in the contemporary era. Following the new developmental concept advocated by the Chinese government, this study has constructed a comprehensive set of indicators for high-quality tourism development. A thorough spatial analysis of the developmental quality of China’s provincial tourism industry from 2000 to 2021, as well as the developmental conditions of various subsystems, was conducted by employing the entropy–value–TOPSIS method, Dagum Gini coefficient, and ESTDA approach. The research has found that (1) the overall quality of China’s tourism industry has significantly improved, (2) the determinants of differences in tourism-development quality in China transitioned from endowment advantages to innovation capabilities. (3) positive spatial-agglomeration effects are evident in the developmental landscape of China’s tourism industry, (4) the quality of regional tourism development is closely related to the economic development of urban agglomerations, (5) China’s tourism industry demonstrates resilience and capacity for restructuring in the post-pandemic era.

The importance of media-induced tourism has increased in the latest decade. The integration and collaboration of film elements is an especially effective pathway for the innovative development and upgrading of the experience of the cultural tourism industry. Existing studies on the mechanism of tourism destinations and cultural tourism development, mainly from the perspective of tourism destinations and tourist experience, have rarely explored the cultural tourism development mechanism from the perspective of interest-related community interaction in the film-enabling context. In this study, we conducted high-frequency word analysis and element category analysis of the online text data of the Japanese animation film Your Name from the angle of interest-related community interaction through utilizing online text analysis and Grounded Theory analysis. Based on the interest-related community interaction, we analyzed the elements of interest-related community interaction in cultural tourism triggered by the film, including tourist hotspots, tourism resources, the tourist experience, sightseeing expectations, tourism evaluation and information dissemination, and formulated the orientation pathway of film-enabling cultural tourism. In this study, we aimed to enrich cultural tourism research and provide a reference point and theoretical support for film-enabling cultural tourism in the Internet era by introducing the concept of interest-related community innovation to the scene of film-enabling cultural tourism.
