Evaluation of the Impact of Spatial and Environmental Accident Factors on Severity Patterns of Road Segments

Abstract: Several studies have examined a wide range of accident risk factors affecting road safety. The purpose of this study is to examine the main traffic accident factors that affect the severity of road segments. The practical objective of the article is to assist specialists in identifying risk patterns both from a spatial and casualty point of view. To achieve the desired goals, accidents of a road network have been analyzed through three major steps; segmentation, black spot identification, and decision analysis… Show more

“…However, they ignored spatial variables that may have a significant impact. In [17], to classify the collected segments by severity degree, the empirical Bayesian technique was used. The decision rules technique was used to determine the major attributes that lead to accidents in specific segments.…”

“…This article presents a pilot-study for the above-described network research, focusing on the Hungarian capital, Budapest and its agglomeration area (Figure 1), which is a frequently researched area in transportation sciences, such as [16][17][18][19][20]. In general, Budapest is divided by the river Danube.…”

“…End-of-life aircraft contains a lot of materials and parts that can be recycled. Therefore, an aircraft has a rest value, which should be recovered (Ghadi and Török, 2021). This is the first motivation for recycling.…”
