The development of science and knowledge and the structure of society has had various impacts on the order of social life. No exception influences the smallest organization, namely the family. The model and parenting patterns of the previous generation (the baby boomers’ generation) are significantly different from the next generation. Of course, this also causes differences in the results and impacts obtained. However, the issues related to parenting tend to remain the same. One parenting that is often used is authoritarian parenting, in which parent’s tom much impose his will on the child as desired. This makes children become depressed so that the proximity of the child with parents rift or loose. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implications of parenting conditions and its various characteristics in building closeness between parents and children.

In recent years, several studies have examined the effect of parents and friends on cyberbullying victims. Less is known about their combined effect on cyber perpetrators, especially among Jewish and Arab teens in Israel. We collected data from a representative sample of 350 Jewish and Arab adolescents (aged 15–16) and their parents. We repeated the interviews twice within a year. The survey included measurements of three parental practices: support, monitoring, and protectiveness, as reported by parents at the first time of data collection. We measured the adolescents’ engagement in sensation-seeking and cyberbullying as perpetrators and perceptions about peers’ involvement in these behaviors. Path-analysis models revealed that the perception of peers’ involvement in cyberbullying perpetration was positively linked with involvement in such behavior among Jewish and Arab teens. Contrary to our expectations, no parental practice had a direct effect on cyberbullying perpetration among teens in either ethnic group. The study presents important and unique findings. The results indicate that youngsters involved in cyberbullying are strongly influenced by their peers. The prevalence of this pattern in both the Jewish and the Arab populations indicates its universal nature. On a practical level, it may be suggested that bullying behaviors may be mitigated by taking measures in formal and informal education. Another aspect of the results is the decline in parental influence on adolescents’ cyberbullying behaviors, especially among Arab teens. This may be an indicator of cultural changes taking place in the Arab population in Israel alongside widening of the generation gap.

El nacimiento de un hijo/a con discapacidad es un acontecimiento que genera estrés, depresión y un fuerte impacto emocional en padres y madres, por ello el objetivo de este trabajo es investigar este aspecto. Método: Han participado 59 familias con hijos/as con diagnóstico discapacidad de la Comunidad de Madrid, siendo el 71.2% mujeres. Se usó un cuestionario elaborado ad hoc, la Escala de Estrés Percibido, el Inventario de Depresión Beck-II, la Escala de Resiliencia de Connor y Davidson (CD-RISC) y la Escala de Confianza Familiar (Con-Fam). Resultados: Las familias han manifestado estrés percibido, así como síntomas de depresión leve, sin embargo, los niveles de resiliencias son altos. En cuanto a la confianza familiar también ha sido adecuada. El análisis de las diferencias estadísticamente significativas muestra como el tipo de discapacidad, el número de hijos, la búsqueda de ayuda, la estructura familiar y las distintas emociones sentidas en distintos momentos temporales mostraron interesantes resultados. Conclusiones: Tener un hijo/a con discapacidad provoca en la familia respuestas de estrés y depresión, sin embargo, a pesar de este impacto las familias sienten capacidad de afrontamiento y confianza ante el cuidado del hijo/a.
