“…The absence of eye contact during the training process was the most relevant barrier reported by students (Barakat et al, 2021). Recorded video tutorials were described as effective and supportive tools for pharmacy education (Farha et al, 2020). However, using them solely might not be as effective, requiring a blended learning style to be more comprehensive (Baumann-Birkbeck et al, 2017).…”

“…The intervention group achieved higher score than the control group, p < 0.001. Unlike a previous recent study which evaluated the influence of the training module immediately after conducting the workshop, 52 we evaluated the effectiveness after several weeks which ensure measuring the long-term effect of this educational tutorial.…”

“…Few studies have been conducted to determine the effect of educational programs on students' ability to obtain medication histories and to identify and resolve TRPs. [50][51][52] These studies have focused on incorporating an interactive learning exercise using simulation 50,51 and the use of a short duration video tutorial 52 to educate students about medication reconciliation and the results of these studies indicated that students' knowledge and skills about medication reconciliation and identifying discrepancies were improved following the educational intervention. [50][51][52] However, medication reconciliation and finding discrepancies are only one part of PC principle.…”

“…Transferring content previously delivered inperson into asynchronous video tutorials offers a solution to the problem of the course schedule, but can all subjects be successfully learned from online tutorials? Previous research work has demonstrated that pharmacy students can learn skills and retain knowledge from asynchronous video tutorials in specific subject areas such as inhaler techniques (Erickson et al, 2013), counselling for common drugs (Lean et al, 2018), medication reconciliation (Abu Farha et al, 2020), ambulatory care practices (Phillips, 2015), and pain management (Pick et al, 2017). It is more difficult to find examples from the pharmaceutical area; however, manufacturing processes (Yellipeddi and Roberson, 2016) and compounding skills (Park & Shrewsbury, 2016) have been examined as well.…”
