Evaluation of the Effect of Bovine Bone Graft on the Preservation of Buccal Plate of Extracted Socket

Abstract: In order to preserve the original ridge dimensions following tooth extraction and promote bone regeneration of the residual alveolar socket, various bone grafts and substitutes were used. Among these grafting materials, bovine bone xenograft was used in order to promote bone regeneration. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of bovine bone graft on the preservation of buccal plate of bone of extracted socket. Twelve patients with non-restorable maxillary tooth or remaining root were included in thi… Show more

“…The strength of osseointegration is usually determined by implant stability. 11,12,14,15,21 The mean initial ISQ values at surgery in both groups were 39.00±2.16 and 40.00±2.12, respectively, in this sample. The ISQ levels at the time of operation are low when compared to the values at 6 months, which are 70.43 and 68.71.…”

“…Furthermore, after malleting, the osteotomy approach causes problems such as headache and vertigo. 11,12 Therefore, other surgical techniques and equipment have been created 13 . Among these surgical methods, devices that used hydraulic pressure which revealed a minimal risk of sinus membrane perforation as well as convenience of use.…”

“…The primary goal of tissue engineering is the augmentation of bone deficiencies throughout the body, particularly in the craniofacial region ( Lopez et al, 2021 , Mossaad et al, 2021 ). Bone regeneration replacement materials must be biocompatible, biodegradable, easy to apply, effective for bone repair, and highly adaptable to bone defects ( Helal et al, 2016 , Veljanovski et al, 2021 , Wang et al, 2002 ). Various scaffold types and natural or synthetic materials, such as metals, ceramics, and polymers, have been used to stimulate and enhance bone regeneration ( Kim et al, 2021 , Lim et al, 2021 ).…”
