Evaluation of the Biocidal Capacity of Hypercrosslinked Resins Containing Dithiocarbamate Groups

Abstract: Summary: In this study we report both the development of dithiocarbamate resins from the commercial hypercrosslinked resin MN-250 and the evaluation of the biocidal capacity of this material against E. coli ATCC25922 suspensions. The preparation of dithiocarbamate resins followed a synthetic pathway based on nitration of resins, reduction of nitro groups and reaction with CS 2 in an alkaline medium.
