The present study focuses on utilizing polystyrene emulsion treated newsprint microcrystalline fibers (NPMCF). These treated fibers were then added to styrene‐butadiene rubber (SBR) at different concentrations, namely, 3, 6, 9, and 12 phr (part per hundred part of rubber). Mixing of ingredients was carried out on a rubber roll mill and afterward molded as a thin film on a hot press, then, exposed to electron beam irradiation doses up to 200 kGy so as to enhance the treatment of the composites. Mechanical properties of the composites, such as tensile strength, elongation at break, tensile modulus, and cross‐link density were enhanced by adding the treated fiber to SBR and by irradiation, and this enhancement was obtained at 6 phr fiber at 100 kGy. Measurements of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) proved the adhesion of the treated fibers to SBR. The thermal conductivity was measured for the prepared composites as a function of electron beam irradiation and fiber content. It was found that the thermal conductivity decreases according to fiber loading (up to 6 phr fiber) and irradiation dose.

Nowadays, the reinforcement of concrete with natural fibers can consider being an effectual scheme to achieve the global demand for sustainable development. Due to sustainability, bio degradability, and environmental friendly, natural fibers are preferred as compared to synthetic fibers. The present study investigated the effect of width and thickness of jute fiber strips on the mechanical properties of reinforced concrete beams (RC beams). The experimental program consisted testing of twenty-four RC beams (150*150*1000 mm) comprised of four groups. The first group consisted of three reference RC beams, the second group consisted of three RC beams strengthened longitudinally with carbon fiber strip (CFRP) of 15 cm width, the third group included nine RC beams strengthened longitudinally with one layer of jute fiber strips (JFRP) having variable width, 5, 10, and 15 cm, and lastly the fourth group which was same as the third group except using double layer of jute fiber strips. Generally, the results showed that toughness, ultimate flexural strength, and load carrying capacity of RC beams strengthened with JFRP were increased with the increase of the strip width and thickness. On the other hand, ductility and stiffness were decreased with the increase of the strip width. Test results showed that load carrying capacity was improved by 5.56 and 11.1% for one layer of jute fiber strips of 5 and 15 cm width respectively as compared with the reference specimens. On the other hand, the load carrying capacity was improved by 3.95 and 8.75 % for two layers of jute fiber strips of 10 and 15 cm width respectively as compared with the one layer strengthened specimens. Concerning the CFRP strengthening, the load carrying capacity was improved by 77.76% as compared with the reference specimens.

This paper represents an important issue with accumulating separate fundamental mechanisms through the wheelchair for the handicapped persons as world is getting tired by seeing the handicapped scenarios for accidental or natural circumstances. Our job is to provide them a pretty easier life with the invention of this modified wheelchair. This chair consists of some important section of project for the handicapped person where all the belongings have been powered by mainly Arduino Uno. Along with this some additional devices like sensor, microcontroller, Bluetooth module, buzzed module and Android software have been used to fulfil the requirement. The chair moves with the directions of the navigation keys from Android mobile. For the deaf person a display has been used with a view to making better communication level with others by the voice command from Android mobile software. Besides, it can detect the obstacle from the front position for better justification of the user. However, this chair is sensible in detecting the hole or crack from the front position of the chair. Sensing living being from the front position is also a responsible duty which will be helpful for blind person indeed. Not only this but also a strong automation system has been provided to control the home appliances with the help of Android software. A 12.5 volt 1 Amp and 5V Battery have been used to power the tasks. This intelligent chair can carry up to 150 kilogram weight which will make a revolution indeed. The entire cost for this job was TK 13500 BDT (150 USD).
