Evaluation of Silicosis, Asthma, and COPD Among Sand and Gravel and Stone Surface Mine Workers

Abstract: Despite the absence of cases of silicosis, findings of increased current asthma, association of COPD and seeing a doctor for shortness of breath with duration of work, and the presence of obstructive changes in some non-smokers suggests the potential for adverse respiratory effects in the surface sand and gravel industry.
