“…In agreement with the preceding studies, a significant reduction in RV GLS and RV free wall LS were observed after 24 h, and this was persistent 1 month after closure [29]. This reduction is considered normalisation of the RV function because the hyperkinetic RV wall secondary to volume overload improved to become normal.…”

“…In contrast, the diameters of the RA and RV decreased further as well. There were no significant differences in the strains compared with the control values, except for the free wall basal strain [ 20 ]. Bussadori et al [ 21 ] mentioned that the RVLS works as an indicator of RV function dependent on loading conditions, while strain rate seems to be less dependent on it.…”

“…Global longitudinal strain in patients with atrial septal defect repair is considered a validated tool to predict early ventricular dysfunction and the time to initiate medication in volume‐overloaded conditions. It can be performed immediately after the surgery and after short‐term follow‐up 36,37 . In patients with Ebstein's anomaly after the cone procedure, RV GLS had a strong correlation with RV EF by CMR, whereas FAC and TAPSE showed moderate and weak correlations, respectively.…”
