Soil use and management systems aim to create conditions that are favorable to crop growth. The hypothesis is that areas subject to intensive use of agricultural machinery and animal trampling tend to have a soil structure that is altered by aggregate fragmentation, which causes soil compaction and consequently decreases the soil's physical and hydraulic properties. The aim of this study was to assess and compare the physical and hydraulic parameters of a dystrophic yellow latosol in an area of Cerrado in the municipality of Chapadinha, Maranhão, Brazil under different use and management systems. The following five use and management systems were studied with five replicates: native forest (control), slash-and-burn agriculture, grassland, no-till crop production and conventional tillage. Data analysis was performed using a completely randomized experimental design. The soil's density, macroporosity, microporosity, total porosity, hydraulic conductivity, infiltration, water retention curve, penetration resistance and Soil quality assessment index (S index) were assessed for all management systems. The soil use and management systems were found to have a significant effect on the penetration resistance and the water infiltration rate. The native forest and slash-and-burn agriculture areas provided the highest soil water infiltration rates and the lowest soil penetration resistance. A multivariate analysis identified the variables associated with each soil use and management system. The slash-and-burn agriculture area had the highest S index, which means it provided soil of the best physical quality.

Resumo Este estudo aborda as representações de cuidadores familiares de idosos com Alzheimer considerando o cuidado à luz da Teoria das Representações Sociais. Objetiva observar e identificar as representações dos cuidadores familiares sobre o cuidado e analisar como influenciam em suas práticas de cuidado. É do tipo empírico, exploratório, qualiquantitativo e utiliza como método o Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo. Participaram 21 cuidadores familiares de idosos com Alzheimer, sendo 24% homens e 76% mulheres, com faixa etária de 32 a 69 anos. Sobre o suporte fa miliar, 57% afirmaram possuir ajuda de parentes no cuidado com o idoso e 42 % declararam cuidar sozi nhos deles. Quanto à renda, 24% afirmaram que era confortável, 63%, que era razoável. Quanto à ajuda de profissionais, 63% afirmaram não possuir qual quer tipo de ajuda em casa e 38% possuíam ajuda, mas frequentemente relacionada aos serviços do mésticos. Emergiram as seguintes representações sociais: o cuidado como prisão; como missão; como desarmonia de identidades sociais e como gratidão. As representações atreladas às ideias de prisão e desarmonia de identidades acrescentam ansiedade, estresse e insegurança à vida dos cuidadores. Foram encontradas representações sobre o cuidado, sendo ao menos duas delas representações negativas, as sociando o cuidado às ideias de prisão e desarmonia de identidades sociais. Não foi possível alcançar de forma direta suas repercussões sobre a prática de cuidado pela ausência de observação da rotina de cuidado durante esta pesquisa.

Custard apple production (Annona squamosa L.) in the Brazilian Northeast occurs throughout the year. Its management involves pruning, irrigation, and proper nutrition. The objective of the present work was to verify the influence of different doses of nitrogen and the use of humic substances on soil chemical attributes and tree custard apple nutrition. The experiment was conducted in a commercial orchard in the municipality of Anagé, Southwest region of the state of Bahia, in a randomized block design in a 4 x 2 factorial scheme, four nitrogen doses (0, 284, 568 and 852 g per plant, urea) with and without the application of humic substances (Ks100), with 4 replicates. Soil chemical characteristics, macro and micronutrient contents were evaluated in the leaves of the custard apple tree. Nitrogen rates reduced soil pH and the availability of calcium, magnesium and boron. The application of humic substances increased the content of potassium in leaves. Under the conditions studied, high nitrogen doses influence soil fertility and the application of humic substances does not improve the absorption of most of the nutrients, except potassium, and it did not influence the chemical attributes of the soil.
