RESUMO O objetivo deste trabalho foi determinar a digestibilidade do farelo de palmiste (Elaeis guineensis) para o tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum), em duas classes de peso: 1 (210 alevinos de 4,45±1,18g) e 2 (54 juvenis de 115,91±4,01g). Os coeficientes de digestibilidade aparente (CDA) da matéria seca, proteína bruta e energia bruta do farelo de palmiste foram avaliados pela metodologia de substituição da dieta referência, utilizando-se 0,1% de óxido crômico como indicador externo. Os dados foram analisados pelo teste t de Student, a 5% de probabilidade. Os CDAs da matéria seca, proteína bruta e energia bruta do ingrediente foram iguais (P>0,05) nas classes de peso avaliadas. Os CDAs observados nas classes 1 e 2, respectivamente, foram: matéria seca (17,52% e 20,75%), proteína bruta (62,83% e 63,75%) e energia bruta (14,16% e 22,43%). A capacidade do tambaqui para digerir os nutrientes do farelo de palmiste não foi influenciada pelo peso corporal, e o aproveitamento satisfatório da proteína (63,29%) faz desse ingrediente uma potencial fonte alternativa de proteína em dietas para a espécie.

“…In agreement with the work of Kumar, Sandor, et al () in L. rohita fed DORB‐based diet with 30% crude protein and 6% lipid, whole body proximate composition of L. rohita in the present study was not affected by inclusion level of DORB in diet containing 260g/kg crude protein and 70g/kg lipid. Similarly, Obirikorang et al () also did not find any significant difference in the proximate composition of Nile tilapia fed diet containing different agro‐industrial by‐products. Although significantly ( p < 0.05) decreased SGR and WG% and increased FCR were resulted at higher inclusion level of DORB, there was no significant difference ( p > 0.05) of growth in L. rohita fed diet (260g/kg crude protein and 70g/kg lipid) with inclusion level of DORB up to 430g/kg.…”

A 60‐day feeding trial was conducted to optimize the inclusion level of de‐oiled rice bran (DORB) in the diet of Labeo rohita fingerlings. Six iso‐nitrogenous (260g/kg), iso‐lipidic (70g/kg) and iso‐energetic (15 MJ/Kg) diets were prepared with different inclusion level of DORB viz., T33, T38, T43, T48, T53 and T58. One hundred and eighty fingerlings (9.8 ± 0.5 g) were randomly distributed in seven experimental groups in triplicates following a completely randomized design. The weight gain %, specific growth rate, protein efficiency ratio and feed efficiency ratio were found similar in 33%, 38% and 43% DORB fed groups. The expression of both insulin‐like growth factors I and II (IGF‐I and II) was significantly (p < 0.05) higher in T33, T38 and T43 groups. Based on second order polynomial regression analysis (y = −0.0059x2 + 0.4573x − 4.8404, R2 = 0.95), the expression of IGF‐I was found to be maximum at 39.5% inclusion level of DORB. Significantly (p < 0.05) lower muscle RNA content, RNA‐DNA ratio and higher feed conversion ratio were found in T58 group. Hence, from these results, it can be concluded that the optimum inclusion of DORB in the diet (260g/kg CP and 70g/kg lipid) of L. rohita should be 39.5% to support maximum nutrient utilization and growth performance.

ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengaplikasikan pemanfaatan bahan baku lokal di Klungkung, Bali sebagai pakan ikan nila BEST dibandingkan dengan pakan komersil. Pemilihan bahan baku lokal untuk memformulasikan pakan uji ditentukan berdasarkan hasil survei bahan baku yang mengandung nutrien terbaik sesuai dengan kebutuhan ikan nila dan harga yang relatif murah. Pakan uji yang diformulasikan mengandung protein 29%-30%. Performa pakan uji dibandingkan dengan pakan komersil dengan menggunakan uji-T. Setelah diaklimatisasi, benih ikan nila BEST (panjang total 5,7 ± 0,4 cm; bobot 3,1 ± 1,8 g) ditebar secara acak ke dalam enam buah hapa berukuran 2 m × 1 m × 1 m yang terletak di dalam kolam 100 m 2 dengan kepadatan 65 ekor/m 3 dan diberi pakan uji sebanyak 3% dari total bobot seluruh ikan uji per hari selama tiga bulan masa pemeliharaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan ikan nila BEST tidak berbeda nyata antara pakan uji hasil formulasi dengan pakan komersil (P>0,05). Nilai FCR pakan komersil tidak berbeda nyata dibandingkan pakan formulasi. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, keuntungan dengan menggunakan bahan baku lokal lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan pakan komersil.
