Evaluation of Growth, Physiological, and Quality Parameters on Seed Yield of Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill]

Abstract: Fifty genotypes of Soybean, including two checks (JS 20-98 and JS 20-34), were evaluated to assess the effect of various growth parameters on the seed yield of soybean cultivars and to determine their variability in protein and oil content as well as the correlation between both qualitative characters and yield parameters. The study was carried out during the Kharif season of 2019 at Seed Breeding Farm, Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics, College of Agriculture, JNKVV, Jabalpur, (MP). The experiment was… Show more

“…These findings contradict previous studies by Yadav et al (2023c) [93] , Verma et al (2016a) [83] , Gautam et [20] and Jha et al (2018) [25,32] reporting that both organic and inorganic fertilizers increased tiller numbers in oats. Similarly, a leaf-to-stem ratio of 0.14 was observed under the treatment of 100% RDF with bio-fertilizer (Toppo et [82,93,50,74,91] .…”

“…These five treatments exhibited statistically similar nitrogen uptake and showed higher values compared to other treatments. However, they notably outperformed 2,4-D at 500 g/ha (52.92 kg/ha), atrazine at 750 g/ha + pendimethalin at 750 g/ha (46.11 kg/ha), and atrazine at 1000 g/ha (40.93 kg/ha), which demonstrated equivalent performance (Malviya, et [36,66,39,66] . The lowest nitrogen uptake was recorded for pendimethalin at 750 g/ha (36.61 kg/ha), with the absolute lowest uptake observed in the weedy check plot at 30.69 kg/ha in maize (Kewat et al, 2009) [24] .…”

“…The optimal mineral fertilization is crucial for achieving high-quality crop yields (Sahu et al, 2022;Swati et al, 2022) [45,60] . N, P and K are essential plant nutrients, influencing various metabolic processes and overall plant health (Jha et al, 2011;Pahade et al, 2023) [19,39] . Nitrogen, in particular, plays a pivotal role in plant metabolism and protein synthesis, with its perishable nature (Stoyanov et al, 1996b; [58,68,69,73] .…”

“…The main principle of classical approach is "The regulation of population of an individual pest below the economic threshold". Therefore, biological control exercise to limit their infestation in such a density/level at which they will not be highly damaging to the crops (Jha et [87,81,135,111,113,109,151,153,139] .…”
