Abstract:Background: Most oral squamous cell carcinomas are preceded by premalignant lesions like leukoplakia, erythroplakia etc. Identification of these lesions by molecular markers and intervention at an early stage can reduce mortality, morbidity and cost of treatment associated with oral cancer.
