Evaluation of efficacy and safety of improved transurethral plasma kinetic enucleation of the prostate in high-risk patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia and coronary artery disease

Abstract: Objective This prospective study aimed to evaluate the safety of improved transurethral plasma kinetic enucleation of the prostate (iTUPKEP) in the perioperative period in high-risk patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and coronary artery disease. Methods Patients with BPH underwent surgical treatment with transurethral vapour resection of the prostate (TUVP) or iTUPKEP. Serum endothelin-1, cardiac troponin-I, and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein concentrations were evaluated in the short term a… Show more

“…Modern basketball is constantly innovating and developing, the competition between international strong teams is becoming more and more intense, and the requirements for athletes' physical fitness are getting higher and higher [3]. An athlete's physical potential must be maximized in order for it to be capable of conquering opponents.…”

“…Both procedures resulted in significant improvements in IPSS, QoL, Qmax and PVR at the 24-month follow-up, consistent with previous studies involving transurethral 1470 nm diode laser vaporization [17,18] and PKEP. [19][20][21][22] Transurethral 1470 nm diode laser vaporization was associated with significantly less intraoperative blood loss. Indeed, the effectiveness of the laser in vaporizing, cutting and coagulating prostate tissue primarily depends on the laser wavelength.…”

“…With the accelerated aging of the population, the incidence of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is increasing among elderly men in China ( 1 ). Histologically, BPH is mainly characterized by hyperplasia of prostatic interstitial and glandular components, anatomically, enlarged prostate, which often leads to lower urinary tract symptoms, such as dysuria, frequent urination, urinary incontinence, etc ( 2 , 3 ). Long-term development of the disease will cause serious damage to the bladder and kidney function, and have many adverse effects on patients’ quality of life.…”
