Evaluation of Different Binder Combinations of Cement, Slag and CKD for S/S Treatment of TBT Contaminated Sediments

Abstract: The seabed in the ports needs to be regularly cleaned from the marine sediments for safe navigation. Sediments contaminated by tributyltin (TBT) are environmentally harmful and require treatment before recycling. Treatment methods include leaching, stabilisation and solidification to remove toxic chemicals from the sediments and improve their strength for reuse in the construction works. This study evaluated the effects of adding three different binder components (cement, cement kiln dust (CKD) and slag) to tr… Show more

“…Methods of GIS mapping and geoinformatics passed several epochs from their onset in the 1970s, including rapid development of computer technologies and progress in spatial data standards and formats. Besides, the approaches related to remote sensing, Earth observation, and geological data processing largely use spatial data [27,47,48]. Although these approaches have advantages in geospatial data processing, those methods are not efficient enough for processing large datasets in real time, which requires machine-based cartographic data visualisation.…”

“…Using GEBCO for topographic mapping is reported in literature (Masalu 2008;Lindh and Lemenkova 2021;Gauger et al 2007;Lemenkova 2019cLemenkova , 2020e, 2021d. Its popularity can be explained by its availability (https://www.gebco.net/) and unprecedentedly high resolution.…”

“…Recently, geologic research has focused on advanced solutions for data analysis and mapping (Sylvester and Attoh 1992, Attoh 1998, Lindh and Lemenkova 2021, Allibone et al 2002, Lemenkov and Lemenkova 2021b. However, previous studies used traditional methods of plotting for data visualization with limited functionality to perform mapping by automated approaches, such as Generic Mapping Tools (GMT).…”
